Luke Dashjr says the chain didn’t split over BLAKE2b. In his telling, the SHA-256 miners left on Aug 8 for what he calls an “airdrop scamcoin”, Bitcoin carried on, and the switch to BLAKE2b came later, on Aug 30, with full consensus.
